There’s A Right Way To Use Acrylic In A Bathroom…
AND A WRONG WAY.
How To Know You’ve Found The Right Bathroom Remodeling Solution
There’s no shortage of companies in Chicagoland and South East Wisconsin pushing 1-Day acrylic liners as the fastest and cheapest way to upgrade your bathroom.
It’s a “solution” we recommend avoiding, but not because acrylic is a bad material in every situation. It’s just that there is a good way to use acrylic… and then there are places you definitely should NOT use acrylic.
The Right And Wrong Ways To Use Acrylic
Acrylic has one quality you really want in the bathroom – it’s non-porous. And used in the right places, it is a very durable material that can be easily cleaned.
The right way to use acrylic is as a material for the bathtub itself.
The problem is that many bathroom remodelers sell wall systems that use acrylic. And they also aren’t selling a full replacement solution, put just a flimsy piece of acrylic to stick on top of your old tub.
Here are two ways you definitely don’t want to use acrylic:
1. You don’t want to use acrylic for shower or tub walls. The walls are where beauty really counts the most, and acrylic options are plain, unstylish, and… well, they look cheap! Full tub and tile replacement is another option, but it is very expensive and takes weeks to install. Cultured Stone is both beautiful and affordable and only takes a day or two to install.
2. You don’t want to use acrylic as a liner to stick on top of your old tub. Using flimsy piece of acrylic to top an old tub only covers up old problems and can lead to moisture getting trapped between the tub and liner. That sets you up for problems down the road.
So if anyone tells you that acrylic is the best solution for your bathroom, be sure ask them how and where they are using it.
Cultured Stone… Much More Beautiful & WAY Better Than Acrylic Liners
Now for the good news.
There’s absolutely no reason to use acrylic any place other than where it works best. Cultured Stone is much more beautiful, it’s a lifetime solution, and is much less expensive than using tile. Your entire tub or shower will be replaced, not just covered over with a thin acrylic liner.
The best way to believe it is to see it for yourself. You’ll love the look and feel of Cultured Stone!
